Check out the New MOSES Young Organic Stewards Program! MOSES stands for Midwest Organic and Sustainable Educational Services. Moses has out done themselves again! They are now considering Organic Farming for the Youth. During the MOSES Organic Farming Conference there will be workshops established especially for the youth. The group will include youth between the ages of 18-25 years old who have an interest in the organic industry. During the Conference there will be four workshops and two social activities,which has been targeted by the youth. The titles of the workshops are as follows:
*Beginning Farmers Friday- 8:30am " There are a variety of things that the novice farmer has to learn such as: "navigating", "Fixing tractors"."investment choices to Managing relationships with mentors. landlords,or even parents."
*Acquiring Land Friday-2:00 pm Don't think that it is necessary for you to be a manager of a farm in order for you to learn to crop your own land. You are a natural born farmer, because many of your Ancestors were naturally born agriculturalist . You will also have access to an expertise such as: " Director Paul Dietmann. You will have to become acquainted with the various different start-up options, which include the following: ,"Leasing",Partnerships", and the ."Purchase of Land."
*Educational and Experiential Learning Opportunities Friday- 4:00 pm"Internships, farmer-training programs, and university degrees Students you will be able to learn how to become an excellent farmer from experts like "Ryan Jepsen, Melanie Timpano and Bev Ruesink". Make sure that you set aside sometime to join the panel as they discuss the," Pros and cons of their experiences participating in a farmer training program, working as an organic farm intern, and completing a college degree."
*Planting the Seeds for the Young Organic Stewards Saturday- 4:99pm "A grassroots group of 18-25 year old formed during the 2010 conference to recommend workshops and social activities for future conferences." "This Young Organic Stewards group initiates dialog, learning and relationships for organic and sustainable agriculture. Can you possibly plot what the next challenge will be? This is a place where you can retire to relax and dialog with other youth who have the same interest in the organic industry. Oh Yes! you will have to bring some cash in order to pay for your substance. Parents you must give your under again teen permission to leave the ,"conference grounds."
